Prayer Shawl Ministry

Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort, solace or celebration. Many blessings are prayed into every stitch.

The shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. 

If you love to knit or crochet, you can join our team on the fourth Tuesday of the month, September through May in Room 207 at 10am. Donations of yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks or money (used to buy supplies) are gratefully accepted. All are welcome!

If you or anyone you know would like to receive a prayer shawl, please contact the office, 239-334-8937 and leave your name and phone number so that a member of the ministry will make arrangements for you to receive one.
